The last couple months were a whirlwind. The on and off again trade talks between Canada and the United States continue to this day.
On October 19, Albertans went to the polls to vote on 10 different things. One of these 10 things were for Alberta to stay a part of Canada and to begin the legal process to seperate from Canada and form its own country. Albertans voted around 75% to remain a part of Canada. This should bring certainty to investors and businesses that Alberta is remaining a part of Canada.
On October 24, there was a provincial election for the Canadian province of British Columbia. At the time of the election was called, the government was a NDP government. The outcome of the election was a majority conservative government with an interim leader, who took over the party after the leader resigned a few days prior to the election was called. Interim Leader Lorne Doerkson won majority with over 60 of 93 seats. So, Mr. Doerkson will likely remain leader of the party and face a leadership vote at a party convention in the future.
